CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability categorized as critical has been discovered in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.112/6.18.56/7.2.10. The affected element is the function sparx5_tc_matchall_destroy of the component sparx5. Executing a manipulation can lead to memory leak. This vulnerability is registered as CVE-2026-99029. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. No exploit is available. It is advisable to upgrade the affected component.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.112/6.18.56/7.2.10. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function sparx5_tc_matchall_destroy of the component sparx5. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: sparx5: free the matchall entry on destroy sparx5_tc_matchall_replace() allocates a struct sparx5_mall_entry for every offloaded matchall filter and adds it to sparx5->mall_entries. sparx5_tc_matchall_destroy() removes the entry from the list, but never frees it, so the entry of every deleted mirror and goto matchall filter is leaked. Free the entry after unlinking it. The leak was discovered by an AI code review agent, and reproduced with kmemleak on a lan969x EV board (EV23X71A) by repeatedly adding and deleting matchall mirror and goto filters. With the fix, kmemleak no longer reports the leak.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-99029 since 09/25/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 10/23/2026). The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1499.

Upgrading to version 6.12.113, 6.18.57 or 7.2.11 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch fa0c27d9e17ee2e46d4b8274a6fde706f0d6725e/cc7cc5955d22ea90555f09a680d4bf56d4a0c24a/44efb6d92dd5a2b1dd9553d92ef0eebde135fc6e/2b82e16d6084cbc651e3c902198f1945408ee1a5 is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
