Details
A vulnerability was found in entireio cli up to 0.7.6. It has been classified as problematic. This affects some unknown processing of the component SessionID Handler. The manipulation of the argument SessionID with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Entire CLI hooks into Git workflows to capture AI agent sessions. Prior to version 0.7.7, a path traversal vulnerability in Entire CLI allows an attacker with push access to the checkpoints repository to craft malicious checkpoint metadata that causes entire session resume or entire checkpoint rewind to write attacker-controlled transcript data outside of the expected session directory. The issue occurs because checkpoint metadata is fetched from the remote entire/checkpoints/v1 branch and the SessionID field was used to construct filesystem paths without validation in the restore path. A malicious SessionID containing absolute paths or path traversal sequences could cause arbitrary files on the victim’s machine to be overwritten. This issue has been patched in version 0.7.7.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-57208 since 06/24/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 0.7.7 eliminates this vulnerability.
