Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in GitroomHQ postiz-app up to 2.25.2. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-287. When an actor claims to have a given identity, the product does not prove or insufficiently proves that the claim is correct. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Postiz signs its session, invitation and password reset tokens with one shared secret and without any marker of what a token is for. A route that refreshes the credentials of a browser-extension channel signed data taken from the request itself and stored the result where the requesting user can read it back. A user could therefore obtain a validly signed token containing any claims they choose, which the application accepts as a session, as an organization invitation with a chosen role, as a password reset or as an enterprise provisioning token. A second, narrower route that creates team invitations signs extra fields from the request body in the same way.

The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-115933 since 10/23/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

Upgrading to version 2.25.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
