Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in ananthakumaran Paisa up to 0.7.7. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component GetFile/GetSheet/DeleteBackups/DeleteSheetBackups. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Paisa before 0.7.8 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the GetFile, GetSheet, DeleteBackups, and DeleteSheetBackups handlers that lets unauthenticated attackers read files and delete backups through ../ sequences in file names. Attackers can send crafted names to the editor file and delete_backups endpoints to read any server-readable file and remove backup files outside the journal or sheets directory.
