Details
A vulnerability was found in boneIO up to 1.5.x and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Node-RED Admin API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
boneIO Black exposes a Node-RED instance without authentication at the /nodered/ path through a Caddy reverse proxy. The Node-RED Admin API allows deploying flows that can execute arbitrary system commands. An unauthenticated attacker on the local network can deploy a malicious flow to achieve remote code execution and gain full control over the home automation system. This issue was fixed in version 1.6.0.
