A vulnerability has been found in Novell GroupWise (Groupware Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component Internet Agent. The manipulation as part of a VCALENDAR Message leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Buffer overflow in gwwww1.dll in GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA) in Novell GroupWise before 8.02HP2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted TZID variable in a VCALENDAR message.
The weakness was published 01/26/2011 by Basti with ZDI (Website). The advisory is available at zerodayinitiative.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-4325 since 11/29/2010. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept.
