Details
A vulnerability was found in Dell PowerProtect Data Domain (the affected version unknown). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the component Certificate. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
PowerProtect Data Domain, Feature Release versions 7.7.1.0 through 8.7, LTS2024 release versions 7.13.1.0 through 7.13.1.70, LTS2025 release versions 8.3.1.0 through 8.3.1.30, LTS2026 release versions 8.6.1.0 through 8.6.1.10, contain a Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in the certificate. A high privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Denial of service.
