Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in TP-Link RE305 (the affected version is unknown). This issue affects an unknown code of the component tmpServer Service. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
An operating-system command injection vulnerability exists in the tmpServer service of TP-Link RE305 V3. The service runs with root privileges and listens on the local loopback interface. A local attacker with access to a low-privileged process on the device may submit a crafted request to the TDDPv1 service and execute operating-system commands with root privileges. Successful exploitation may allow a local attacker with low privileges to obtain root privileges and execute arbitrary operating-system commands on the affected device.
