Details
A vulnerability was found in Mang Board Plugin up to 2.4.5. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Shortcode Handler. The manipulation of the argument align with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:
The Mang Board plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'align' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Because the payload contains no angle brackets, wp_kses_post leaves the shortcode intact on save, allowing the malicious attribute value to survive post submission and fire in any viewer's browser — including an administrator previewing a pending post.
