A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Saturday Drive Ninja Forms Plugin up to 3.15.3. This affects the function validate of the component CSV Escaping. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a csv injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-1236. The product saves user-provided information into a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could be interpreted as a command when the file is opened by a spreadsheet product. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Ninja Forms plugin for WordPress before 3.15.4 contains an incomplete server-side validation vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to submit arbitrary values to Checkbox List, Multi-Select List, Image List, Country, and State fields because NF_Abstracts_List falls through to a validate() method that only checks required-field presence. Attackers can submit crafted formula payloads through the unauthenticated nf_ajax_submit endpoint that bypass CSV escaping applied only to Textbox and Textarea fields, resulting in CSV injection when an administrator downloads and opens the exported submissions file.
