Details
A vulnerability has been found in Oapi-codegen up to 2.8.0 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the component Server-urls Template. The manipulation of the argument servers[].x-go-name with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
oapi-codegen 2.5.0 before 2.8.1 contains a code injection vulnerability that allows attackers to inject Go code by supplying a crafted servers[].x-go-name value emitted unescaped by the server-urls template. Attackers who control an OpenAPI document can define an injected func init() that executes when the victim builds and imports the generated package.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-119027 since 10/29/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely.
