Argument injection vulnerability in IBM Lotus Notes 8.0.x before 8.0.2 FP6 and 8.5.x before 8.5.1 FP5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a cai:// URL containing a --launcher.library option that specifies a UNC share pathname for a DLL file, aka SPR PRAD82YJW2.

The weakness was presented 02/08/2011 by rgod with ZDI (Website). The advisory is shared for download at zerodayinitiative.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-0912 since 02/08/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 370379 (IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities (swg21461514)).

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at www-01.ibm.com.
