Details
A vulnerability was found in GoCardless up to 1.0. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function confirm_resource of the component Redirect Flow. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-287. When an actor claims to have a given identity, the product does not prove or insufficiently proves that the claim is correct. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Business::GoCardless versions before 1.01 for Perl complete redirect flows without checking the session token, letting a leaked redirect flow ID create payments against another customer's mandate. confirm_resource takes no session token from the caller. It reads the redirect flow back from the GoCardless API and completes it with the token from that response, so the check that the flow is completed by the session that started it always passes. It then creates the requested payment or subscription against the flow's mandate. Since version 1.00, a flow that already has a mandate is returned as confirmed without being completed again, so the same ID creates a new payment on every call. A remote attacker who obtains another customer's redirect flow ID can create payments or subscriptions against that customer's mandate.
The advisory is shared at metacpan.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-119038 since 10/29/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 1.01 eliminates this vulnerability.
