Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in InternLM LMDeploy up to 0.18.0. Affected by this vulnerability is the function ForkingPickler.loads of the component Pickle Handler. The manipulation of the argument serialized_named_tensors with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
InternLM LMDeploy 0.9.0 through 0.18.0 contains an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability that allows remote attackers to run OS commands by sending pickled data to the /update_weights endpoint. Attackers can submit a base64-encoded crafted pickle in serialized_named_tensors, which ForkingPickler.loads deserializes without validation, executing commands as the api_server process.
