Details
A vulnerability was found in Zuke-Build Zuke up to 1.50.x. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown code of the component Shim Launcher. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Zuke is a code-first, strongly typed build automation system for Deno. Prior to 1.51.0, @zuke/core launches resolved Windows .cmd and .bat shims by prepending cmd /c, causing cmd.exe to reparse a command line assembled with C-runtime quoting rules. A build running on Windows that resolves a tool from node_modules/.bin and passes attacker-influenced text containing an unquoted &, |, or ^ metacharacter can execute an additional attacker-chosen command in the build's context with access to its credentials. POSIX platforms are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 1.51.0.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-119288 since 10/29/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1202.
Upgrading to version 1.51.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
