Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Red Hat konflux-ci up to 0.2.2/0.2.3-rc.0. This affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A flaw was found in konflux-ci. An attacker with repository write access can achieve arbitrary code execution within the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflow environment. By injecting shell commands into environment export scripts, the attacker causes manifest synchronization scripts to dynamically evaluate unvalidated script output. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to compromise CI/CD pipelines, steal sensitive authentication tokens and deployment credentials, and gain unauthorized access to production systems.
