Details
A vulnerability has been found in sea-team GoFound up to 1.4.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function os.RemoveAll of the component Database Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument database with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
GoFound through 1.4.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary directories by supplying ../ sequences in the database parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /api/db/create and /api/db/drop, directly or via a victim's browser, triggering os.RemoveAll on directories outside the data directory.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-120444 since 11/02/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
