Details
A vulnerability classified as very critical was found in Control Web Panel up to 1.15. This vulnerability affects the function shell_exec of the component User Panel. The manipulation of the argument file with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Control Web Panel (CWP) before webpanel_version 1.16 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in the protected_directory user panel module that allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands by submitting unescaped input through the file POST parameter in the acc=deletedp action. Attackers can exploit this flaw, which passes attacker-controlled input directly into a shell_exec call, to achieve code execution in the user panel context.
The advisory is available at control-webpanel.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-77876 since 08/21/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
