Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in CN5G AMF 2.2.1. This issue affects the function DecodeSuci of the component NAS Decoder. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer underflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-191. The product subtracts one value from another, such that the result is less than the minimum allowable integer value, which produces a value that is not equal to the correct result. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
An integer underflow vulnerability in the NAS decoder of OpenAirInterface (OAI) CN5G AMF v2.2.1 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) via crafted NAS Registration Requests containing a truncated SUCI in the 5GS Mobile Identity IE. Insufficient length validation in the DecodeSuci() function results in an out-of-bounds heap read, causing the AMF process to crash.
