The bug was discovered 06/30/2008. The weakness was published 07/01/2008 by Andrew with University of Michigan (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-2314 since 05/18/2008. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
