Details
A vulnerability has been found in Red Hat Gst-plugins-good up to 1.28.1 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component FLV Media Demuxer. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a buffer overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-120. The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow. As an impact it is known to affect availability. The summary by CVE is:
A flaw was found in GStreamer's gst-plugins-good package. The FLV media demuxer does not properly validate buffer sizes and data availability when processing enhanced audio and video tags in malformed or truncated FLV streams. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted FLV media file that, when opened or streamed by a GStreamer-based application, triggers an assertion failure or a process crash, leading to denial of service.
