Details
A vulnerability was found in AzuraCast up to 0.23.8. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Profile Edit API. The manipulation of the argument timezone with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
AzuraCast through 0.23.8 contains a remote code execution vulnerability that allows authenticated station managers to inject Supervisor configuration through the station timezone field. Attackers can submit a timezone containing newlines to the profile edit API, defining a new Supervisor program that executes OS commands as root when configuration regenerates.
