Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in AzuraCast up to 0.23.8. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file sc_serv.conf of the component Profile Edit. The manipulation of the argument adminpassword/password/portbase with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
AzuraCast through 0.23.8 fails to remove frontend_config.custom_config in PUT /station/{id}/profile/edit for users lacking the Manage station broadcasting permission, and the stored JSON is written verbatim as key=value lines into the Shoutcast sc_serv.conf file. An authenticated user with only the Manage station profile permission can override adminpassword, password, and portbase, or inject arbitrary directives via newlines in keys, hijacking the station's Shoutcast frontend.
