Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Agamnentzar ag-psd up to 31.0.0. This affects the function readPsd of the component PSD file Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory allocation vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-789. The product allocates memory based on an untrusted, large size value, but it does not ensure that the size is within expected limits, allowing arbitrary amounts of memory to be allocated. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
ag-psd is a JavaScript library for reading and writing Photoshop Document files. Prior to 31.0.3, readPsd() accepts a totalMemoryLimit for parsing untrusted PSD files, but decodeLayerImageData expects a differently named memoryLimit property and therefore passes an undefined limit to createImageDataBitDepth. An attacker who can supply a PSD to an application with layer decoding enabled can use attacker-controlled layer dimensions to trigger an allocation larger than the configured limit, causing process memory exhaustion and denial of service. The advisory also identifies inflateSync(compressed) decompressing ZIP-encoded channel data without an output-size cap, which can cause a similar denial of service through unbounded decompression. This vulnerability is fixed in 31.0.1.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-63501 since 07/16/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 31.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
