Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in CPANSec CGI-Cookie up to 4.x. Affected is an unknown function of the file lib/CGI/Cookie.pm of the component Set-Cookie Header. The manipulation of the argument path/domain/expires with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
CGI::Cookie versions before 5.00 for Perl allow cookie attribute injection via unvalidated path, domain and expires values. The path, domain and expires values are written into the Set-Cookie header without checking for semicolons or control characters. An application that sets them from request data can be made to add other cookie attributes, such as Domain or SameSite.
