Details
A vulnerability has been found in SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway up to 15.1.0 and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway before 15.1.1 can evaluate attacker-influenced replacement text as Perl code in sender or recipient replacement rules. An unauthenticated remote sender can execute operating-system commands in the mail-processing worker context when an active rule uses message-derived replacement data and its search condition matches. The validated worker context was root.
