Details
A vulnerability was found in SQL::Abstract up to 2.000001_03. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Injection Guard. The manipulation of the argument func with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQL::Abstract versions from 1.90_01 before 2.000001_04 for Perl skip the injection_guard check for function names given with -func. injection_guard is documented to apply to every function name, but only the { -name => ... } shorthand goes through it. The explicit { -func => [ $name, ... ] } form puts $name into the SQL unchecked. An application that relies on injection_guard to reject an untrusted function name passed with -func allows SQL injection.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-121009 since 11/03/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
