Details
A vulnerability was found in SPIP up to 4.4.28 and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function spip_sanitize_from_request of the component Request Sanitization. The manipulation of the argument where with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
SPIP before 4.4.29 contains a SQL injection vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with back-office access to inject arbitrary SQL by submitting a differing where parameter value in the POST body versus the GET query string on the /ecrire/?exec=articles endpoint, bypassing spip_sanitize_from_request() sanitization. Attackers can exploit this request parameter mismatch to extract database contents, including protected articles and bcrypt password hashes of users.
The advisory is shared at spip.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-122032 since 11/04/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploitation requires an enhanced level of successful authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 4.4.29 eliminates this vulnerability.
