Details
A vulnerability was found in parse-community Parse Server up to 8.6.112/9.10.5-alpha.5. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component LiveQuery. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prototype pollution vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-1321. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Parse Server before 8.6.113 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.6-alpha.5 contains a prototype pollution vulnerability when building objects for Cloud Code triggers and LiveQuery, where a dot notation key whose intermediate segment resolves through an inherited member writes onto a process-wide built-in. Clients with write access to an object in a class with a trigger or LiveQuery can corrupt a built-in function, making unrelated requests fail until restart and denying service to all clients and hosted applications.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-121965 since 11/04/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 8.6.113 or 9.10.6-alpha.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
