Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Red Hat Keycloak (affected version not known). Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component SAML HTTP-Redirect Binding. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a signature verification vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-347. The product does not verify, or incorrectly verifies, the cryptographic signature for data. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A flaw was found in the SAML HTTP-Redirect binding implementation of Keycloak. The issue occurs because the server processes percent-encoded parameter names (like %53AMLResponse) while the signature verification logic only checks literal parameter names. An attacker can use this discrepancy to provide a crafted, unsigned SAML message that the server processes instead of a legitimately signed one, leading to full account takeover of federated users.
The advisory is available at access.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-117691 since 10/27/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
