Details
A vulnerability was found in Apache OFBiz up to 24.09.7. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code of the component DelegatorFactory. The manipulation of the argument userTenantId with an unknown input leads to a allocation of resources vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-770. The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated, in violation of the intended security policy for that actor. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
In multitenant deployments, ContextFilter and LoginWorker built a per-tenant delegator name from a request-supplied userTenantId parameter and requested a delegator for it before confirming the tenant existed. DelegatorFactory's internal cache retains every delegator name it is asked to resolve, including ones that fail to resolve, so an unauthenticated attacker could submit a stream of arbitrary tenant IDs to grow this cache without bound, driving unnecessary memory and database load.
The advisory is shared at lists.apache.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-74841 since 08/17/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/05/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.
