Details
A vulnerability was found in Red Hat Keycloak Single Sign-On (version unknown). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown function of the component keycloak-services. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A flaw was found in the authentication session handling of the keycloak-services component in Keycloak. The issue occurs because the system fails to verify if an authenticator is valid for the current authentication flow when switching between the standard authentication path and the reset credentials path. An authenticated attacker can exploit this by triggering a race condition during the credential reset process to associate their successful authentication state with another user's session. This can result in the attacker gaining full access to the victim's account and changing their password.
