Details
A vulnerability was found in SuiteCRM up to 7.15.1/8.10.1. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function CasesController.action_get_kb_articles of the component Cases Module. The manipulation of the argument search with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, the CasesController action_get_kb_articles action interpolates $_POST['search'] into a CASE WHEN ... LIKE expression and the SQL WHERE clause. Although securexss() normally entity-encodes quotes, an input prefixed with an XSS payload makes AntiXSS select a processed string instead of the encoded backup, allowing a literal quote to reach the query. A low-privileged user with Cases module access can perform blind SQL injection and extract sensitive database information. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.
It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-69141 since 08/03/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely.
