CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in pavel-odintsov FastNetMon up to 1.2.9 and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function parse_raw_packet_to_simple_packet_full of the file src/simple_packet_parser_ng.cpp of the component Packet Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-125. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:

FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, parse_raw_packet_to_simple_packet_full() in src/simple_packet_parser_ng.cpp dereferences ipv6_extension_header_fragment_t when IpProtocolNumberIPV6_FRAG is present without first verifying that the eight-byte Fragment header remains. A crafted sFlow v5 RAW_PACKET_HEADER record can remotely reach this shared parser with the Fragment bytes omitted, causing an unauthenticated remote out-of-bounds read. The supplied harness detects the read under AddressSanitizer, but the advisory does not establish a production process crash. No fixed release is available as of this review.

It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-92693 since 09/16/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/05/2026).

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
