Details
A vulnerability was found in cern-fts fts-monitoring up to 3.13.2/3.14.0 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function get_linkinfo of the component Linkinfo Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument source_se/dest_se with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
FTS3 Web Monitoring (fts-monitoring) versions 3.12.0 through 3.13.2 and 3.14.0 contain an unauthenticated sql injection vulnerability in the /linkinfo endpoint handled by get_linkinfo. Remote attackers can inject SQL through the source_se and dest_se query parameters to perform blind injection and read stored cloud storage credentials and token provider client secrets.
The advisory is shared for download at advisories.egi.eu. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2025-71458 since 11/06/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
