Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Red Hat Keycloak and Single Sign-On (the affected version unknown). Affected is an unknown part of the component SAML Brokering. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A flaw was found in the SAML brokering component of Keycloak, an identity and access management solution. The issue occurs when Keycloak acts as an intermediary between an upstream identity provider and downstream services. Keycloak fails to respect specific security instructions called ProxyRestrictions in the login messages it receives. This allows a user to log into downstream services even when the original identity provider explicitly forbade further sharing of the login session. As a result, users can bypass security boundaries intended to limit where their identity can be used.
