Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and OpenShift Container Platform (affected version not known). Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Seccomp Profile. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a numeric truncation error vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-197. Truncation errors occur when a primitive is cast to a primitive of a smaller size and data is lost in the conversion. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A flaw was found in the default seccomp profile used by Podman via containers-common. Deny rules for AF_VSOCK and NETLINK_AUDIT compared socket arguments with unmasked 64-bit equality. Because the kernel truncates those int arguments to 32 bits, setting upper bits can bypass the deny rules.
