Details
A vulnerability has been found in rubengc GamiPress Plugin up to 8.1.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block. The manipulation of the argument input_ with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The GamiPress – Gamification plugin to reward points, badges & ranks in WordPress, now with AI plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via the 'input_<field_id>.<part> (Gravity Forms name-field part, or list-field row)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 8.1.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. Exploitation requires a GamiPress achievement already configured against a Gravity Forms 'field value submission' event with the corresponding form published — a standard setup for sites using the integration.
