Details
A vulnerability was found in expresstech Quiz and Survey Master Plugin up to 11.2.7. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function do_shortcode of the component Shortcode Execution. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authorization vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-285. The product does not perform or incorrectly performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The The Quiz and Survey Master (QSM) – Quiz Maker & Survey Maker plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary shortcode execution in all versions up to, and including, 11.2.7. This is due to the software allowing users to execute an action that does not properly validate a value before running do_shortcode. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes. The submission nonce is dispensed to any unauthenticated caller by the public wp_ajax_nopriv_qsm_create_quiz_nonce endpoint, meaning it functions as a CSRF token rather than an authorization barrier and imposes no meaningful obstacle to exploitation.
The advisory is available at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-103917 since 10/01/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
