Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Amelia Pro Plugin up to 9.9.1. Affected is the function EventRepository::getFilteredIds of the component SQL Query Execution. The manipulation of the argument tag[] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The Booking for Appointments and Events Calendar – Amelia Pro plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the 'tag[] (array KEYS)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 9.9.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. WordPress's wp_magic_quotes escapes array values but not array keys, meaning attacker-controlled tag[] array keys reach EventRepository::getFilteredIds() completely unescaped and can be crafted to defeat the plugin's Statement::execute placeholder binder via overlapping strtr() substitution keys.
