CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in ImageViewer Plugin up to 3.0.2. It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown functionality. The manipulation of the argument img.alt with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. This is going to have an impact on integrity. The summary by CVE is:

The WP ImageViewer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'img.alt' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This requires a front-end content plugin such as bbPress to be active, as it grants Subscriber-level users the bbp_participant capability needed to publish image-bearing content containing the encoded payload. Exploitation by attackers with contributor-level access and above requires that the site allows Contributors (or higher) to submit image HTML in post content — the WordPress default. On a default installation, where that is not configured, the vulnerability requires attackers with custom-level access and above.

The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-122059 since 11/04/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
