Details
A vulnerability was found in OpenEMR up to 8.2.x. It has been classified as critical. This affects the function DrugSalesService::sellDrug of the component Fee Sheet. The manipulation of the argument prod[N][warehouse] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
OpenEMR before 8.3.0 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in the Fee Sheet drug-inventory lookup (DrugSalesService::sellDrug) that interpolates the prod[N][warehouse] POST field into an ORDER BY clause. Low-privileged authenticated users can submit Fee Sheet product lines with constant subqueries to run a time-based blind oracle, extracting patient data and users_secure bcrypt hashes.
