Integer underflow in the OLE Automation protocol implementation in VBScript.dll in Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP1 and SP2, Windows Server 2008 Gold, SP2, R2, and R2 SP1, and Windows 7 Gold and SP1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted WMF file, aka "OLE Automation Underflow Vulnerability."
The weakness was released 06/14/2011 by Yamata Li with Palo Alto Network as MS11-038 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-0658 since 01/28/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
