A vulnerability was found in Turnkeywebtools SunShop Shopping Cart up to 4.0.0. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function check_email of the file class.ajax.php. The manipulation of the argument id with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in class.ajax.php in Turnkey Web Tools SunShop Shopping Cart before 4.1.5 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via (1) the id parameter in an edit_registry action to index.php, (2) a vector involving the check_email function, and other vectors.
The weakness was published 08/22/2008 by James Bercegay with Gulftech (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at secunia.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-3768 since 08/22/2008. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
