A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in AVTECH PageR Enterprise up to 4.4.1. This issue affects some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the web interface in AVTECH PageR Enterprise before 5.0.7 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the URI.
The weakness was released 09/05/2008 by DiGiT with Digital Defense, Inc. (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at lists.grok.org.uk.
