The XBM decoder in Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.17 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.12 allows remote attackers to read uninitialized memory, and possibly obtain sensitive information in opportunistic circumstances, via a crafted XBM image file.
The bug was discovered 09/23/2008. The weakness was shared 09/24/2008 by Georgi Guninski (moz_bug_r_a4) with Martijn Wargers (Website). The advisory is shared at redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-4069 since 09/12/2008. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
