Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and SP3 and Server 2003 SP2 do not properly handle OLE objects in memory, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted object in a file, aka "OLE Property Vulnerability."
The weakness was published 12/13/2011 by Luigi Auriemma with iDefense as MS11-093 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-3400 since 09/09/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
