Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Arihiro Kurta Kantan WEB Server up to 1.8 (Web Server). This issue affects an unknown code block. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Arihiro Kurata Kantan WEB Server 1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via unknown vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 09/17/2008 by Daiki Fukumori with Secure Sky Technology (Website). The advisory is shared at jvn.jp.
