Details
A vulnerability was found in eDreamers eDNews 2.0. It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown functionality of the file eDNews_archive.php. The manipulation of the argument lg with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in eDNews_archive.php in eDreamers eDNews 2, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the lg parameter. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
