A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Adnforum 1.0b (Forum Software). This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file index.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-264. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. index.php in ADN Forum 1.0b and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and gain sysop access via a fpusuario cookie composed of an initial sysop: string, an arbitrary password field, and a final :sysop:0 string.
The weakness was published 01/28/2009 by Pepelux (Website). The advisory is shared at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-6001 since 01/28/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
